Dear Colleague,

Governor Gregoire released her proposed supplemental budget today and the news is very bad. Higher education was cut by the maximum possible amount. The cut to WWU would be 3.8 million, on top of the 44 million we were cut last year. These cuts would be devastating to our students and the university. Please write the governor and your legislators and tell them to save higher education.

Simply fill in the required fields, write your message and send. In your message, you might emphasize that these cuts will restrict access to college, make degrees more expensive and harder to get, cost jobs, and put Washington citizens at a disadvantage in the competition for Washington’s best jobs.

Do this now. The students you help and the job you save could be your own.

Sincerely,

Steven Garfinkle President, United Faculty of Western Washington

Bill Lyne President United Faculty of Washington State
