The UFWW and administration bargaining teams met Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11 and 12, with a mediator from the Public Employees Relations Commission. This brings the number of days the two sides have engaged in mediation to a total of four, and the total number of days devoted to negotiations to 36.
Some minor progress was made in this latest round of mediation, but no major issues were resolved.
In light of this lack of progress, the UFWW will now begin to take whatever steps are necessary to help bring this process to the appropriate conclusion of a contract that is consistent with the university's mission and in the best interests of Western's students and faculty.
Both sides will return to mediation on March 25 and 26.
