The UFWW and Western administration bargaining teams met all day on Tuesday,
April 15 and Wednesday, April 16. The mediator from the Public Employees
Relations Commission joined us on Tuesday but unfortunately became ill on
Wednesday and could not attend that session.
In these sessions, we made measurable progress toward a settlement.
However, major issues still remain, including workload, grievance
procedures, and compensation.
Mediation will resume for what both sides hope will be a final two days next
Thursday and Friday, April 24th and 25th.
